Our client a leader in the civil construction industry and is experiencing exceptional growth at present. Due to the ever-expanding operations with in the Central Queensland area they are looking for an energetic motivated individual that has the ability to communicate effectively on all levels from management down to the operators and labourers You will be reporting to the OSE Manager and will need to be effective with input and advice to successfully create a Zero Harm culture. Your duties will include to the following: - Ensure legislation is being followed and adhered to at all times
- Conducting safety and risk assessments
- Work with line managers to ensure audits, investigations and hazard analysis programmes are up to date
- Assist with reviews of original assessments and review if necessary
- Assist with all pre-start meetings
- Ensure adherence to internal policies and procedures
- Weekly reporting and incident investigations
- Maintain documentation and conduct site inductions and toolbox talks
- Communication, both up and down the chains of command
- Identify preventative measures for high risk activities with site personnel
Minimum requirements for this position: - Previous experience within the civil sector
- Certificate IV (Occupational Health & Safety)
- Cert IV in Training and Assessment
- Be able to lead and mentor
- Have experience in operating under third party OHS& E Management Systems
